Application Rates
Tomatoes are aggressive feeders. Apply 400 to 500 kg of Vermicompost per Bigha. This provides the continuous calcium, potassium, and phosphorus needed for a heavy multi-harvest crop.
When to Apply
Apply at transplanting and again at the first flower cluster stage (35-40 days).
Step-by-Step Application Guide
Hole prep
Apply 50-100g per planting hole.
Transplanting
Plant seedlings into the treated holes.
Mulching
Cover with straw or plastic to protect roots.
Flower Set
At 40 days, top-dress around the base.
Stake Support
Support the fast-growing heavy clusters.
Protection from disease
Mitti Gold Vermicompost contains natural chitinase-producing microbes that break down the cell walls of harmful pathogens. This protects vegetable crops from early/late blight and damping-off, ensuring a healthy root system.
Stopping Blossom End Rot & Cracking
A primary failure in tomato farming is calcium deficiency leading to Blossom End Rot. Vermicompost contains highly bio-available organic calcium and trace minerals that prevent rotting and cracking, resulting in firm, shiny, export-quality red tomatoes with extended shelf life.
Protecting Against Soil Fungus
Tomatoes are susceptible to soil-borne wilts (Fusarium). The heavy concentration of beneficial Trichoderma in vermicompost acts as a biological shield, defending the roots and keeping the plants alive longer.
Selling to Nurseries and Exporters
Organic, firm tomatoes are highly demanded by ketchup manufacturers and fresh organic export markets due to their superior taste and low water-retention issues.
