Application Rates
For mature, fruit-bearing mango trees (5 years and older), apply 10 to 15 kg of Vermicompost per tree. For newly planted saplings (1-4 years), 2 to 5 kg per plant is sufficient.
When to Apply
Apply in two equal doses: one after the final harvest (July-August) and the second dose before flowering onset (November-December).
Step-by-Step Application Guide
Root Zone Mapping
Target the active root zone located precisely below the outer leaf canopy drip line.
Ring Trenching
Dig a 6-inch deep ring trench along the canopy edge around the entire tree.
Basal Dosage
Apply 10-15 kg of vermicompost per mature tree into the trench.
Backfilling
Refill the trench with soil to keep the earthworm casts and microbes moist.
Post-Application Water
Flood the ring or use drip irrigation to activate the biological fertilizer.
Protection from disease
Mitti Gold Vermicompost enhances the soil's fungal-to-bacterial ratio, suppressive to root-knot nematodes and soil pathogens. It builds long-term immunity against fruit rot and bacterial blight by providing balanced micronutrients and beneficial fungi.
Chemical vs. Organic Mango Outcomes
Vermicompost provides balanced nutrition that triggers robust flowering. It also significantly reduces "spongy tissue" occurrences in Alphonso mangoes and ensures a spotless skin.
Rebuilding Soil Biology
Vermicompost revives dead soil by repopulating it with actinomycetes and phosphate-solubilizing bacteria, converting naturally locked phosphorus into usable food.
Export and Premium Markets
Exporting mangoes requires zero chemical residues. Vermicompost allows farmers to achieve global GAP certification, unlocking international export markets.
